Trailer Titling and Registration
All trailers used in commercial trucking must be titled and registered in Delaware:
- Obtaining a Title – Titles can be initiated at the DMV, though forms are available online to streamline the process. Proof of ownership (either a bill of sale or transfer of title) is required.
- Registration Requirements – Present your title and complete the registration, ensuring insurance and tax requirements are met.
Costs:
- Title fee: $45
- Annual registration (varies by weight): $17 for trailers up to 1,200 pounds, $25 for 1,001–2,000 pounds, and $44 for 2,001–5,000 pounds, with additional charges for heavier trailers.
For interstate operations, apportioned registration is necessary, allowing seamless travel across states by paying fees proportionate to the miles driven in each state.
Heavy Highway Vehicle Use Tax (HVUT)
For vehicles over 55,000 pounds, an annual HVUT return is required by the IRS. The tax applies to carriers operating heavy vehicles on public highways. HVUT is calculated based on the fully equipped weight of the vehicle and trailer, plus the maximum load weight.

Driver Records Check
When hiring drivers, request a motor vehicle record for each candidate. These records are available in three-year, five-year, or full-history formats, costing $25 per report. This step is crucial for ensuring safe and compliant operations.

If you’re not satisfied, we’re not either, and we work hard to meet your needs. We also respect your freedom to choose your business partners, so there are no long-term restrictions.
How do I sign up with you, and what do I need?
Signing up with Fasticon Logistics is easy, with the ability to submit documents online.
First, you’ll sign our Dispatch Carrier Agreement, which outlines both our responsibilities clearly. This agreement is meant for mutual protection — it’s not a long-term contract, as our services are month-to-month without penalties for discontinuing.
You’ll also need insurance listing Fasticon Logistics as the certificate holder. This is a standard requirement in the industry, allowing us to represent you in business transactions when needed, with coverage for both liability and cargo.
Additionally, we’ll need a Carrier Set-Up Package, references from shippers and brokers, your MC Permit, and a signed W9 form.
At Fasticon Logistics, we maintain precise, compliant records with all safety, regulatory, and industry standards, so we’ll also need a copy of each driver’s CDL for dispatching purposes.
Do I have to be working under my own MC authority to hire Fasticon Logistics?
We support both owner-operators with their own MC authority and carriers with company drivers.
Will you work with me if I’m new to the business?
Absolutely. We’re passionate about assisting truck drivers and carriers at every stage of their careers. We only require dedicated, hardworking drivers. If you’re a new carrier, it may initially be challenging to secure the best loads, as many shippers and brokers prefer carriers with MC authorities that are six months to a year old. Nevertheless, Fasticon Logistics will work tirelessly to help you earn well in your first year, and as you gain experience, access to higher-paying loads will become more accessible.

While many clients benefit from our comprehensive service package — covering dispatch, documentation, compliance, and other essential supports — we also serve clients who prefer selective services, such as assistance with documentation alone.
